Just last year Alannah went into labor at 25 weeks with their first baby girl, Ophelia Grace. She fought hard for 49 days.
Nearly 14 months later and her sister made her way into their arms. Miss Alessia Hope Pannell made her way earthside at 7:07am on April 22. She was 7lbs 4oz 20 inches long.
A perfect miracle and answered prayer.
It's crazy how different everyones birth story is. Even siblings have a story of their own. This is the story of Kyler Steel. Born on his daddys birthday! Congrats Jackson family <3
Yes, you read that right...twins!
I was so excited to and honored to document this sweet families time at the hospital. This was my first set of twins <3. They were absolutely perfect. Big sister was a champ! She gave me a run for my money with her photog skills. Love the idea of having big brother or sister document the day with some disposables!
Oh, I was so very excited for this sweet boy to make his way into the world! I was super thankful to be there when the family got the news he was here and saw the first picture! Then, as soon as momma and baby were ready, big brother and sister got to meet their newest sibling. Pure love at first sight.
Little miss sure did give us every clue that she was coming early. Seems like things were progressing well until I got super sick one night. Possible food poisoning. Yea, it was terrible. SO we were set to induce June 21. I was induced with B but was in labor when I went in. So I was all for it. Plus, my doctor is super amazing and she wanted to make sure she was the one who would deliver. I definitely wanted her to be there.
So here we go. Up at 4 am. I had to call the hospital by 4:30 am to make sure they had room for me at 5 am.
Sure enough! They are not busy at all. We make our way to the hospital and wouldn't ya know... I'm in active labor. I had been hurting a little bit that morning and had a good feeling we were getting somewhere. We finally got all checked in and settled and things start rolling about 6 am. We jammed out to some praise and worship to help calm the nerves. Texted everyone how things were going. Tried to relax. Things were getting closer. My amazing Dr. came in and broke my water around 8 am. "Do you want to go ahead and get your epidural? You bet your Dr. Stethoscope I do! Things went fast with B. I had a feeling things would be faster with sister. BOY WAS I RIGHT. As soon as she broke my water the race was on. My epidural went perfectly. The only problem I had was my right side didn't want to numb up. That's ok I can deal with a semi-numb side. Nurse laid me back. Checked me out. Here we go! Lights come down, tools wheel in, Dr on the way.
Family stuck in floods. What are the odds?! They finally make it. Push. "Aww look at that hair. She does have a little bit of hair!" Push Push. "If you need to take a break for a minute you can." NO mam. Lets do this. Push Push Push. SHE"S HERE! "Great job momma! You made this look easy!"
At 9:01 am she was earthside. All 7lbs 10oz 20.5 inches of her.
Sister may have given me trouble during this pregnancy, but she redeemed herself in delivery. If all deliveries were like that I would probably have 15 kids.
Sister did have a little bit of a hard time staying warm. We finally got her skin to skin with a warmer over both of us. She snuggled right in and warmed right up.
Did I mention June 21 was Fathers day? Yea, Happy Fathers Day Husband. Best. Gift. Ever.
This family. These photos. They are so sweet. I got a heart wrenching message a few weeks after the session from mom. Her mother in law passed away not long after this day. She was so thankful we captured these moments. We had to convince her mother in law to get in a few shots and I am so incredibly glad she did. I know they will cherish these moments forever.
This sweet family! They waited a long time for this sweet baby girl to make her debut. Isn't she a doll!! She made momma work for it and finally came earth side via C-section weighing 8lbs 1.2oz. These were their last few hours at the hospital. Congrats Jackson family! Hope you are enjoying that lil ball of preciousness!
